Complete dentures are full-coverage oral prosthetic devices that replace a complete arch of missing teeth. The following are indications for this type of dental prosthesis:

  • A full arch of missing teeth
  • Dental implants that have been deemed inappropriate by patient and/or doctor because of financial constraints, a medically compromised status that contraindicates surgery, or inevitable damage to vital structures such as maxillary sinuses, nerves, and vessels
  • Intraoral cancer that has caused a loss of gross intraoral tissue, resulting in an edentulous dental arch; the complete denture prosthesis would then not only replace teeth but also fill in the portion of missing tissue (eg, nasopharynx, hard palate.

Our full dentures will give others the impression that you have your own, natural teeth still in place.

A partial denture is used when there are still one or more natural teeth left in the mouth. The number of teeth remaining, the position and the stability of the teeth are only a few of the factors that help determine which style or type of partial denture would be best for you.

Partial dentures can be made of different materials:

Acrylic partials dentures are primarily used when there are few natural teeth remaining as these dentures can be easily added onto if more natural teeth need to be extracted and converted into a full denture. They are also a good option as transitional or temporary replacement of missing teeth while awaiting implants.
The metal/acrylic partial is a stronger type of denture. The metal chrome-cobalt alloy can be thin, light and very strong. These partial dentures replace natural teeth without feeling too big and bulky.
The flexible plastic (Valplast) partial dentures are made without wires and therefore offer advantages of aesthetics and flexibility.
All partials are designed to be removable and should be removed nightly to contribute to a healthy oral environment.
The benefits of partials are that they do not harm remaining natural teeth. A partial denture may prevent your natural teeth from shifting or drifting into the space left by the loss of a natural tooth. With a partial denture, you’ll look better, feel better and chew better.

Immediate dentures are placed in the mouth directly after the remaining teeth are extracted. This approach is utilized when a person does not want to be without any teeth for several months while extraction tooth sockets heal and a denture is fabricated.

Immediate dentures refer to dentures that are placed right after the extraction of teeth. This kind of denture works by replacing all the teeth that have been extracted.

There are clients with very poor prognosis and the only solution is to extract all the remaining natural teeth. This happens in case of serious gum problems. In such circumstances, our clinic is always ready to make complete dentures for you.
